Sega is releasing a collection of 16bit Genesis games for Xbox 360 and PS3 titled Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection. Featuring 40 classic games including Sonic The Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe. All of the games have been been converted to hi-def (720p), and will feature unlockable content and Achievement/Trophies. While there isn’t online multiplayer, there is support for same-console multiplayer, just like the original Genesis. The Ultimate Collection is scheduled to drop during winter 2009, and will be priced at a very reasonable $29.95.

As a Genesis boy from back in the day, I am pretty stoked to see this collection coming out. Plus, I know a certain someone who will probably be super-stoked to challenge me to a few rounds of Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine. Woo! via
