According to /Film, Carl Rinsch already has plans on expanding his short film The Gift into a feature film titled Small. The gist seems to be that The Gift was itself based on a piece of Small which he has already written and designed. Described as a blend of 2001, Blade Runner, and Doctor Zhivago, with Bourne-esque action . From the chatter along the intertubes, there is already a bidding war amongst the major studios to get their hands on Small. It looks like Small could become the next District 9.
