A group of artists have started buying up the ridiculously cheap houses in Detroit. For less than $3,000 Mitch Cope and Gina Reichert were able to buy half the houses on their block, with a little elbow grease—and some help from the neighborhood kids—the couple has began to turn a rundown neighborhood into an eco-friendly community. This is truly a bright spot in the shit-storm that is the current economic crisis. via
