I figured it was about time that I made a mix. All the cool kids are doing it, so I might as well jump off the cliff too, right? Since this is my first year-end-mix and I found that I had a lot of tracks to throw out—plus the fact that my taste in music is more than a little A.D.D—I decided to break it up into two mixes.

What I’ll be bringing you in these two mixes is the new music that I’ve discovered and enjoyed throughout the year. Trust me when I say that there is plenty of new music that I’ve heard that deserved to be left on the cutting room floor(IMHO). There’s also a smattering of older tracks that for whatever reason resonated with me this year.

The first mix, 2008 Thanks For All The Fitz is definitely the lighter of the two. It’s what I would consider the easy listening mix. Now don’t go looking for Kenny G, this isn’t going to put you to sleep, but it is lacking much of the aggression/weirdness of the second mix—coming soon. I found that while collecting and organizing the songs in Fitz my mind kept wandering onto the topic of love, life and the frailty of it all, so in true High Fidelity fashion I’m dedicating this mix to my lovely wife, Ivy, without whom I would be a mere shadow of what I am today.
