Bungie announced yesterday that they are releasing a new campaign in the Halo series. This story will take place on Earth during the events of Halo 2. While Master Chief is galavanting across the universe you play as an Orbital Drop Ship Trooper, ODST, who’s landed in Covenant occupied New Mombassa. As the title implies, this game will require a bit of stealth and cool to get through. Mostly because you aren’t a bad-ass Spartan, and you won’t be jumping 30 feet in the air and probably can’t charge into a horde of Brutes shrugging off spiker shots while you clear the room. The upshot is that you look pretty cool in your black uniform.
Like Halo 3, I’m gonna assume that Reacon ODST will be more fun for gamers who are into online versus modes than single player campaigns, as it will also be shipping with some new maps and will fully support all the Forge features that the kids love about Halo 3.
