Gray Robot

This rather blandly titled illustration is the latest installment of my “do something with your doodles” series. Like all good things, this guy started out as an idle sketch while I was mostly preoccupied with something else.  I kind of had the idea to do something really simple and retro looking as I was doodling. This piece is a culmination of a bunch of inspiration points for me, it’s an homage to the vintage sc-fi books covers I’d run across while trolling used book shops, as well as my recent obsession with the work of Roger Dean and Dan McPhearson.

Doom Kitty

A couple of weeks ago I scanned in a notebook’s worth of old sketches with the intention of rendering some of these out to finished pieces. The intent is two-fold, A) to get more comfortable drawing digitally B) to actually do something with all of those doodles I make during meetings when I should be [...]

Spatial Distortion—Lucid

I want to quick share the artwork that I’d created for Spatial Distortion’s latest album, Lucid. My inspiration for this piece came from equal parts, the music, minimalist sci-fi art, and Jim’s love of geometric shapes. I wanted to invoke the spirit of a journey, as if you’re being sucked into this giant space-pyramid [...]

No Limits—We Don’t Wanna Hear It

As Promised, here is some more of the work that I did for No Limits. This is the campaign that I designed for their 2009–2010 season. The theme that the youth came up with was “We Don’t Wanna Hear It.” As in, we don’t want to hear the lies that “Big Tobacco” is telling us. [...]

No Limits—Smoke Free Air Rocks Logo

This is a logo the I did back in the spring of 2009 for No Limits, a youth-led anti-tobacco industry group. This was for a teen dance/event that the group held to celebrate the enactment of Nebraska’s law prohibiting smoking inside of public building—except cigar bars. No Limits is a good client to work with, [...]

Dr. Squarewave Logo & Covers

I had posted this on Twitter a while back, but I figured I ought to post them here before I forget about them. These are a few cover mockups that I had worked to loosen a creative road-jam I had been having. The logo is something I’d worked up a few months back for the [...]

The Bride’s Store Print Ads

These are a pair of ads for The Bride’s Store which appear in Nebraska Wedding Day Magazine. The first advertisement appeared in the magazine throughout 2009. The second will appear in their 2010 issue.
